About Me

Hello! I'm Emily, and I'm here to help you do well in English and History. I have a Master's degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and I've been teaching for over 7 years. I know a lot about these subjects, and I really enjoy helping students learn.

When I teach, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions. I know that everyone learns in their own way. I'll create lessons that are just right for you. I want to give you clear explanations and help you learn good ways to study so you can reach your goals.

Subjects I Tutor

English Literature: We can explore everything from Shakespeare to modern novels. I'll help you understand what you read, write good essays, and think critically.
English Composition: I'll teach you how to write clearly and persuasively for any school assignment. We'll cover grammar, writing style, how to organize your writing, and how to do research.
History (U.S. and World): I can tutor you in many areas of U.S. and World History. I'll help you understand big events, look at historical documents, and write papers.
Study Skills: I can also teach you how to study effectively, manage your time, and do well on tests. These skills will help you in all your classes.
